Much has been said on behalf of the word JUSTICE. We should seek to understand that word from God’s perspective. Justice speaks to fairness and to getting what is deserved. For the moment, think only about you and God. Think about you standing before God after you die. When you do, you will face His judgment.
Hebrews 9:27
Do you want to ask God to give you what you deserve at that time? Do you want justice?
That would not be wise for all of us deserve to be judged for our sins. That judgment would mean eternal separation from God. A just God cannot allow any trace of sin into heaven. That reality makes justice an extremely scary proposition. We need God’s justice for sure but the question is how can we get it without depending on ourselves to get it?
How can we possibly be found not guilty of the punishment for which our sins deserve?
The answer is found in the cross of Jesus Christ. He took our judgment upon Himself as a Perfect Sacrifice for our sins. God cannot be just and overlook sin so He decided to pay for our sins through the death of Christ. When Jesus died, He took the wrath of God upon Himself so that we could know the forgiveness of all our sins. Everyone who places his or her trust in Christ escapes justice because Jesus took the penalty on our behalf.
If you are a Christian, you are under the blood of Christ and you are justified in God’s sight as if you never sinned. Justice for your sins has been met through faith in Christ. That is an amazing promise for us who believe in God’s justice through the cross where Christ became sin for us so that we would be set free from justice!
If you are not a Christian, you will pay for your sins and you will be judged guilty for breaking the laws of God. You have been given free will by God to choose to believe or not believe. You will be found guilty (deserving justice) or not guilty (made just through Christ) depending on what you do with the fact that Christ came into this world to save you from sin. All sin was placed on Christ on the cross. All sin was paid for so that God’s justice could be satisfied. However, only those who transfer their faith to Christ and transfer God’s justice to Christ will be saved from paying for their sins.
