Christmas – Divine Intervention

It is a staggering thought that God would come in human flesh to dwell among us.
Immanuel means “God with us”. He left heaven to enter earth so that we could leave earth and enter heaven.
We dare not miss this mind boggling Truth. God became man – it is the Incarnation, Divine Intervention.
Theologians call the entrance of the divine into the human as the “hypostatic union”.

Hypostatic union is a technical term in Christian theology employed in mainstream Christology to describe the union of Christ’s humanity and divinity in one hypostasis, or individual existence. The most basic explanation for the hypostatic union is Jesus Christ being both fully God and fully man. Wikipedia

What does this mean? God who is perfect became a man in order to live a sinless life in order to sacrifice Himself as the payment for our sins as the Lamb of God.

He was born to die. He was the only person who ever lived who was perfect. He laid down His life starting with Christmas and ending with Good Friday/Easter/Resurrection/Ascension. To miss Christmas is to miss all this!

Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal Christ more clearly to you as you read these verses from Philippians 2:1-11. Consider forwarding this article to someone as God may lead you.

Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:

“Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
