Imagine that millions of dollars were placed in an account in your name to be released on the death of someone who loved you. Christ has made a far greater deposit on your behalf: treasures such as forgiveness, joy, love, acceptance, peace, and freedom from all fear, anxiety, guilt, rejection, and insecurity. His death released all the riches of heaven to you. You can enjoy the deposit of that Gift now by placing your faith in Him.
Why did God send His only son, Jesus, to die for us? Because He loves us. He wants us to spend eternity with Him. Jesus said this . . .
“However, those the Father has given me will come to me, and I will never reject them. For I have come down from heaven to do the will of God who sent me, not to do my own will. And this is the will of God, that I should not lose even one of all those he has given me, but that I should raise them up at the last day. For it is my Father’s will that all who see his Son and believe in him should have eternal life. I will raise them up at the last day.”
John 6:37-40 NLT
You see, there was a problem—God is holy and no sin can be in His presence. He wants us to share eternity with Him, but we have all sinned.
If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth.
1 John 1:8 NLT
And so Jesus came to earth to live and die for us. He was the perfect lamb, the perfect sacrifice, and paid the penalty for our sins. All He asks is that we accept His gift of love and follow Him.

When we accept God’s precious gift and trust Christ, we are made new inside. We receive peace with God because we no longer have sin separating us from His holiness.
The “Life Is Not Fair” Trap
Some people refuse to accept God’s gift because they are bitter about life. Perhaps you feel that way. God wants to take you from bitter to better to best! Thank Him for the good things in your life and for bringing you through the bad. All of it may have been necessary to bring you to this point of decision. God’s greatest concern is that you spend eternity in the perfect place He has prepared for you.
Don’t get trapped in the “life is not fair” trap. If God treated us with fairness, we would not like it. The fair thing is to punish us for our sin. But God does not treat us fairly—He treats us with mercy and grace. He offers us the gift of forgiveness and the hope of heaven.
We know that God, who raised the Lord Jesus, will also raise us with Jesus and present us to himself together with you. All of this is for your benefit. And as God’s grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving, and God will receive more and more glory. That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!

Will You Accept God’s Gift?
Give God your life today—your past, your present, and your future. Confess your sins and ask for forgiveness. Thank Jesus for dying for your sins and believe that He will take all of them away. Ask Him to come into your life and take control of your future. Begin to depend on Him and His unconditional love—not on the temporary things of this world. Walk by faith, not by sight. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand.
