Christmas: Fact or Fiction?

The first four Sundays before Christmas are called Advent meaning “the coming of Christ”. Churches around the world begin preparing hearts for Christmas to prepare for Christ to come into our hearts personally. Where are you with Christ this Christmas? Have you accepted him as your Savior? Do you see Him as the long-awaited Messiah? Christ is the true story of God coming to earth to make a way for humanity to come to heaven. Within the actual Christmas event nearly 2000 years ago, there was no room for God’s birth anywhere presentable, there was “no room in the inn” (Luke 2:7). Instead, Christ’s birth took place in the most humble dwelling imaginable – a manger – a long open box for horses and cattle to eat from. It’s a “riches to rags” story if ever there was one! Heaven is the place of perfection, certainly better than any place on earth. But, God, out of His love for us, came into this world to save us from our sins and make us fit for heaven.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

John 3:16

Is all of this just a made-up story like the invention of Mickey Mouse or Batman or Santa Claus? Many have discounted Christmas as just another time for a winter holiday, time for fun, and time for expressing love within our families. Nothing wrong with that. But, it is a tragedy to miss the very reason for the fact that Christ came as Immanuel (God with us) with the name of Jesus (meaning Savior).

The human race was created by Jesus Christ for Him and by Him and through Him. We exist because He decided to create us! But, more than that, He created us to be in a loving personal relationship with Him.
If we miss Christmas, we miss the most important reason for life. The Bible says that for the joy set before Him, Christ endured the cross and scorned its shame (Hebrews 12:2). Love brought Christ into Christmas.
Love took on the form of human flesh (Incarnation) so that human beings could take on the form of Christ!

“For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.

Colossians 1:16

You can make room for Him in the Inn of your heart. He came into the most humble place to show you that no matter how lowly you may see yourself, it is not too low for Him.

Don’t get distracted this Christmas with all the externals, don’t miss the invitation to bring Christ into the very depths of your heart.

If you know the Lord and you are already saved, make sure that those you know and love hear the Fact of Christmas through the Christmas video. Share it all through the Season with emails, texts and social media.
